I played it at school, followed Wakefield Trinity for years, and I still don't see any point to it, or understand the rules |

Wahey! Don't waste money on the orthodontist getting him nice straight teeth then!
I was fly-half/winger (I played Union) up until a couple of years ago when I had to gibr up... I loved it.

Used to play prop and flanker at Douglas, back in the day. Dropped in to see a match yesterday for the first time in ages, still exciting. _________________ FS Member 17, joined 18 March 2004 |

Well done Tom !! Ace pics Smiler, a proud moment !
Good to see you're letting him try both codes, I did the same.
Lets hope he sticks to league though as we all know Ra-ra is for profs and tofs and not proper rugby at all ! _________________ English by birth, Yorkshire by the grace of God.

Don't understand league. I've watched my mate play but I still find myself asking things like "Why's he putting it on the ground?" 'Tis a good game, though, as far as I understand it.
Union's still better. _________________ Cake is the answer...and you know that for sure. |

I've played both...but mostly league. I tried Union, but it just wasn't as much fun to play.
Watching either is very entertaining.
However, League wins |

Anyone contemplating taking up rugby league should first get hold of a copy of "This Sporting Life", starring Richard Harris. It was shot in and around Wakefield when I was a teenager, and is very authentic to the times.
The players in them days would get a fiver to top up their wages working at the local pit, with maybe a bit of a bonus if they won. If they got to Wembley, forty quid.......... _________________ A frown is just a smile, turned upside-down.......

Oiiiii!
I only played Union because the school wouldn't let me start a girls league side, they were non too happy about me starting a union side either, but my teacher was a wuss...!
And they didn't play League at Uni, either, Wales is big on Union (although they do well at League too)

Hey up Smiler, what a bonnie lad! Did ya chain him up in the backyard when ya got home a give him a good hosing down with the garden hose!
Can just imagine him running through the back door yell "mum, we won" but leaving a trail of mud in his wake!
Beltin mate, beltin!
You could do with some of that mud to be honest, try and hide that great mug of yours! _________________ Xbox 360 Gamertag: wilbawild01

Yeah "run for your life!" and a pre-requisite is also to have either been born brainless, or have had your brain removed at birth....very similar to sidecar racing!!!
